MapleStory Harvest System

Credits to AlienMV for this (copy-pasted from a thread of mine)

Professions is the *new* (it's more than a year old now) crafting system released. It has replace NPC crafting and the old Maker System.

Changes to know:Monster Crystals are useless,NPC's only repair durability now,ORES DO NOT DROP FROM MONSTERS ANYMORE
Getting to Ardentmill
At lvl30,you will receive a quest from Grant to learn your profession at Ardentmill.Ardentmill is entered through this portal, which is located at most towns.
Otherwise, you can use the quick move system and click the symbol that looks like the portal.

After you reach Ardentmill, finishing the quest from Grant, he will explain the Professions, still don't understand? Read on, or skip to another section.

The Different Types of Professions
There are a total of 5 professions (not unless your from the Japanese Version of Maplestory, where they have 6-7), which are split into two groups, harvesting, and creating.

Harvest Professions
Mining:Mining is the harvesting of ores, you use a pickaxe to mine various rocks around Maple World.

Herbalism:The harvesting of herbs. You use a shovel to harvest various plants around Maple World to get Flowers and Seeds.
Wondering which rocks/plants drop where?Go here http://www.basilmarket.com/MapleStor...y-Recipes.html
Creation
Blacksmith:The Profession of Equipment creation. You create armor and weapons using ores.
Jewelist:The Creation of Accessories, like rings and belts, using ores.
Alchemy:The profession of potion creation. You can make various potions, which range from invincibility to status healing.

Professions level up whenever you do something specific to the profession, like mining ores, or crafting items. I'll find a EXP Table eventually...

Miscellaneous
Recipes
While your scrolling through the list of stuff you can create, you will see grayed out names of stuff, it will not allow you to create the item, nor tell you how to make it. To know how to make it, you need recipes. Any item past lvl 100 requires a recipe to create
Recipes are USE items dropped from monsters (though there are the PVP Shop, Ardentmill Shop, and Aswan Shop, that sell various recipes). You can use them to learn how to create the item. Recipes comes in 3 different types, for the 3 types of Creation Professions

Yellow:Blacksmith
Red:Alchemy
Blue:Jewelist
All recipes will look like that, but the name and description will be different. When you roll over the recipe, it will show you the item the recipe is for, and the level required to craft the item.
Crafting Items
You may be wondering at some of the weird stuff required to create items.
Here's how to get them
Item Crystals:You get this by "Disassembling Items". Alchemist have the ability to disassemble items, but the other professions doesn't. Alchemist can create "Extractors" and people can pay a small fee to disassemble items. Head to the Alchemy section for more info on this.
Gallant Emblems:Gallant Emblems are obtained from PVP,since PVP is a separate topic,I cannot explain it here.
Molds:Molds are purchase from Nack at Ardentmill.
Bottles:Also purchase from Nack
Coagulant:Look above this sentence, and you'll know the NPC
Confusion Fragments: Drop from 160+ monster (ignore the descriptions)
Philosopher's Stone:Chance of getting this while extracting lvl105+ Items
Primal Essence:EXTREMELY rare chance of getting this from Golden Flowers and Heartstones (please consult the list of plants/rocks)
Conquerer's Coin:Received from Aswan Party Quest,or by exchanging and Emperor Coin to the NPC for 11
Emperor's Coin:Received from Aswan Party Quest Hard Mode or Higher,or by exchanging 11 Conquerer Coins to the NPC
Dream Fragments: Drop from Monsters in "Door to the Future" aka Future Henesys and Future Ereve
Dream Stone: Drops from Empress Cygnus and her Instructors
Fatigue
What is Fatigue? It's pretty much a limiter on how much you can do. You waste 1 fatigue for harvesting, 3 for creating items. The max amount of fatigue you can get is 200, when your at max, you cannot harvest or create items. There are potions bought from Nack the NPC that reduce fatigue. You can only use a maximum of 3 of these potions.
In Depth Info on Each Profession
In depth, as in, what can I create? What are some of the best things you can make from this? Actually, instead, look through the list of items yourself, there are some pretty awesome stuff you'll find. Anyway here's a list of how to create each item http://www.southperry.net/showthread.php?t=39664
Though I will explain the extra Alchemy stuff here
Fusion:You, as can read, fuse two items together to get a new item. This doesn't exactly mean it will be better. Fusing 2 potentials items will also 100% Chance give your fused item hidden potential.
Extractors:Extractors look like giant pumps. The recipe to create them are from Nack (only way to get it). Extractors allow someone to extract their own gear, without using Alchemy.

That's pretty much it. Still kind of don't get it? Go to that Southperry thread, it was actually dedicated about Profession. If you have more questions on Professions, please go make another thread about it, and I'll or someone will answer it.
Hope it helped you! Now, I'll add some stuff.

You get Basic Item Crystals from level 1-60 equips
You get Intermediate Item Crystals from level 65-80 equips
You get Advanced Item Crystals from level 90+ equips

At a slim rate, you may get an Intermediate Item Crystal from a level 40-60 equip, but it's not guaranteed.
